Our Luxury Log Cabin

Drive down a bumpy track with sheep grazing on either side to reach this traditional log cabin, nestled under ash trees at the far end of an ancient cider orchard.

Graham and Alison, who built the cabin by hand over several years, live at the other end of the garden and leave you local bread and milk, butter, eggs and cheese from a nearby farm as well as home-made marmalade, apple juice and cider. You’ll also find books, games and magazines as well as beach towels if you fancy a drive to the coast (less than an hour away).

Sleeps 2

One super-king size bed on a mezzanine level and accessed via a steep ladder.

+ extra space for additional 2 adults

Ideally sleeps two adults but additional beds could be provided in the limited space from £45 per adult per night.

& space for 1 baby

No charge, but must be under 18 months. Please bring all of your own equipment and bedding for your baby.

Two night minimum stay from £130 per night

A top-of-the-range wood burner to keep you toasty on chilly nights.

Clever insulation means the cabin stays warm in winter and cool in summer.

This luxury cabin comes complete with electric lighting, an en suite bathroom and a huge outdoor area to call your own.

Sit outside on the sheltered veranda, enjoy the sunny dining spot for breakfast; relax on the lounger seating at sunset, or choose to keep warm by the firepit.

A nearby treehouse serves as a hide, so grab the binoculars and look out for resident little owls, deer at first light, swallows sweeping over the meadows, acrobatic bats at dusk and the occasional badger.

You have two mountain bikes at your disposal and there are loads of walks from the door – the Red Lion at Babcary is a 30-minute stroll along footpaths or 15 minutes by bike down quiet country lanes.

Another lovely touch is an honesty bar stocked with a variety of local gins to try. After an evening of drinks snuggling up by the fire just climb the ladder in the lounge up to your cosy super king-size mezzanine bed, the perfect end to your day at the cabin.

This is a cosy but very stylish traditional log cabin with uninterrupted views of the Somerset countryside where you can relax on the loungers with your binoculars looking at the amazing wildlife, cosy up by the fire or get your walking boots on and get straight on the numerous walking routes to the local pub.
