- Shop for basics is a Spar at the nearest garage which is a 15-minute walk away.
- The Red Lion Pub at Babcary is a 30-minute stroll along footpaths or 15 minutes by bike down quiet country lanes
Activities
- Two mountain bikes at your disposal
- Walking - OS Maps of the local area both at 1:50,000 and 1:25,000
- Binoculars for the wildlife and stargazing
- Stargazing – the site is in a low light pollution area and should the clouds allow it, the owners promise you an amazing view of the heavens
- A nearby treehouse serves as a hide, so grab the binoculars and look out for resident little owls, deer at first light, swallows sweeping over the meadows, acrobatic bats at dusk and the occasional badger.
- Bat watching at dusk – they have both the Common pipistrelle and the larger greater horseshoe bat. One of the best places to watch them is by the side of the pond or by the fruit cage as they dart after insects.
Please bring suitable footwear for the outdoors and slippers for indoors
Please be aware the house and log cabin can be hard to find and the final bit is down through a very old bumpy track through an orchard – drive slowly and with care.
Please be aware there will be some farm activity on site depending on the time of year.
