From London
Follow the M3 westwards, then join the A303 to Sparkford. Now take the B road to South Barrow.
From Exeter
Follow the A30 eastbound, which becomes the A303. Take the first turning on your left after about a mile towards Babcary. After 700m take the first turning on your right up Nightingale lane. You will pass Nightingale cottage on your right, then New Close Farm a white house on your left.
Immediately after this house on the sharp bend is a cattle grid with Hill Farm just in on your right and a broken track dropping down through an orchard. Cross the cattle grid and proceed carefully to the bottom of the broken track. At the bottom of this small track is Heron’s Pond.
The final track down through the Orchard to the house at Heron’s Pond and the parking is over 200 years old. It is very bumpy – proceed in your vehicle with caution.
